Last night I watched Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and throughout the whole movie I kept noticing something: Fred and George Weasley (James and Oliver Phelps) look exactly like a young David Bowie. I decided to make them a family portrait in Photoshop, so they can always remember that time their mom got backstage at Live Aid in ‘85 and “met” Ziggy Stardust himself.
The picture doesn’t do it justice, really; watch the movie and you’ll see it too.

Today, 65 years ago, a man named Michael Nesmith was born. Then, three years later on the exact same day, the world was introduced to a beautiful baby boy named Davy Jones. Was it conincidence that these two men shared this common date? No. It was fate.
For 20 years later, NBC created a band named The Monkees. And lo! They made some of the greatest music that mankind has ever heard.
So remember, December 30th is Monkees Day. We can all sit around and remember their appearance on Boy Meets World, where Wikipedia says “Peter Tork played Topanga’s father Jedidiah, Jones played Reginald, an old friend from Europe, and Micky Dolenz played Gordy, Mr. Matthews’ best friend. In the one episode that the three were in together, they performed ‘My Girl.’”
Man, that was a classic episode.
Marge: But it's true. They didn't write their own songs or play their
own instruments.
Zweig: The Monkees weren't about music, Marge. They were about
rebellion, about political and social upheaval!

Hey! Do you love Jenna Fischer? Don’t you just think she’s so cute on The Office? Wasn’t it amazing when her and Jim… oh man. I’m getting choked up….
Well, she’s dating David Spade now. So forget everything you thought you knew/liked about her. The illusion is dead, people. Pam isn’t really that perfect girl you watch every Thursday — she’s a god damned moron.
Also, I think she might be blind.
(No, we aren’t a gossip blog, though it has seemed like that a bit lately. It’s just hard to read anything but celeb items when you play Mario Galaxy 16 hours a day.)
After months and months of anticipation fans like myself were treated to the official trailer of ‘The Dark Knight.’ The heavily anticipated Batman movie starring Christian Bale and Heath Ledger. Here is the official trailer but that wasn’t even the biggest news.
In a huge marketing campaign involving websites and newspapers it was revealed that in IMAX theaters only, the first 6 minutes of the movie would be shown before I Am Legend. A huge tease yes, but also it was finally something for all of us geek Batman fans who have been waiting since the moment we finished watching Batman Begins. Well I have seen the first six minutes of the movie and it is a great opening. All we see are bunch of guys in clown masks robbing the mobs money from a bank. One of the men keeps shooting his others though, throughout the six minutes we basically just see the robbery. Then the bank manager, played by William Fichtner, opens fire on the robbers. He is then shot and one of the men in the masks walks over to him and reveals his face, it is white with red around the lips, we know him as the Joker. He says to Fichtner ‘What doesn’t kill you, makes you stranger” and hops in a school bus and leaves. End clip.

It has been reported recently that Jon Stewart and Stephen Tiberius Colbert, D.F.A, will be reporting back to their respective shows on January 7, 2008. I should be the happiest guy in the world — living without these men has been one of the emptiest times in my life. But I have this crummy feeling that they’re doing something wrong by coming back before the WGA strike is over.

I guess you’ll be recording your new “rap” album next? Have fun with this blessing… I hear the women in that family make great mothers.
