Their first meeting consisted of Tarantino reading opening lines of Pulp Fiction to Rodriguez. Now the two are ready to release their collaborative yet separate B Horror Movie in ‘Grindhouse.’ This is one of my most anticipated movies of 2007. Rodriguez has had huge blockbuster hits with Spy Kids and Sin City, and Tarantino has wowed critics and fans with his amazing screenplays in movies like Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs. Now the two are each contributing their own 85 minute horror movie to the double feature ‘Grindhouse.’ Separating the two features will be a series of fictional movie trailers done by the likes of Eli Roth and Rob Zombie. It will be an experience.

Update:  Rob Zombie stated on his MySpace page that the trailer for his Halloween remake will premier at Grindhouse showings.  Just another reason to go see this movie.

First is Rodriguez’s feature titled ‘Planet Terror’ in which, according to Wikipedia,

“Two doctors, William and Dakota Block, find that their town is overrun by people covered in suspicious sores. They come across a wounded woman by the name of Cherry, a stripper who lost her leg in a creature attack, and her boyfriend Wray. As the ‘zombies’ become more and more aggressive, Wray and Cherry lead a group of survivors in an attempt to rid the planet of the mysterious and dangerous foes.”

After Rodriguez’s film the fake movie trailer’s will be shown, they are as follows.

  • Rob Zombie’s Werewolf Women of the S.S. (featuring Nic Coppola)
  • Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving
  • Edgar Wright’s Don’t Scream
  • Machete

After the intermission, which is the part of the movie with the trailers, Tarantino’s ‘Death Proof’ will be on screen. According to Wikipedia,

“The story of Death Proof will be set around a fictional movie shoot. Winstead plays a character named Lee, who’s an up-and-coming film actress starring in her first big movie. Rosario Dawson plays her makeup artist, while Zoë Bell and Tracie Thoms play stunt women. The girls hang out together and have a good time until a psychotic killer named Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell) begins to stalk them with his souped-up “death proof” cars: a 1970 Chevy Nova and Dodge Charger.”

I personally can not wait.
