BREAKING — From MSNBC.com (ironic?), “MSNBC said Wednesday it will drop its simulcast of the “Imus in the Morning” radio program, responding to growing outrage over the radio host’s racial slur against the Rutgers women’s basketball team. … ‘this decision comes as a result of an ongoing review process, which initially included the announcement of a suspension. It also takes into account many conversations with our own employees. What matters to us most is that the men and women of NBC Universal have confidence in the values we have set for this company. This is the only decision that makes that possible.’ … The network’s decision came after a growing list of sponsors — including American Express Co., Staples Inc., Procter & Gamble Co., and General Motors Corp. — said they were pulling ads from Imus’ show for the indefinite future.”

So here is to people that say protesting will get you nowhere. If people hadn’t raised a stink when this comment was made, the media wouldn’t have jumped on it and it would have fallen by the wayside like so many other things he’s gotten away with. If that hadn’t happened, the girls would have never been brought to the public spotlight. They would have never given that incredible press conference. America wouldn’t have rallied behind them, we wouldn’t have had our big rally with a slew of media coverage, and MSNBC would not have dropped him after their sponsors all left. It all started with us, the people. It started with us not accepting things we heard on the radio and not just taking them in stride. If you did something to contribute to this cause, be proud of yourself.
